EMMY Nomination for The Battle to Beat Malaria

The Battle to Beat Malaria, which premiered on PBS NOVA in November 2023, has been nominated for an Emmy in the category 'Outstanding Science and Technology Documentary'.

We are honoured to join fellow nominees in what is America's most celebrated television awards. The ceremony will be in New York City on Thursday, 26th September. The other nominees work was seen on Netflix, Nat Geo and PBS.

This is the fourth nomination for the film, having previously been nominated for a Rockie Award at the Banff World Media Festival, won laurels for selection to the AFO Science Festival at Olomouc and won an Outstanding Achievement Impact Docs Award.

The news of the Emmy nomination coincided with the UK launch of the film where it received great critical and audience acclaim. The Daily Telegraph called it 'profoundly moving' noting that like the vaccine 'the film is an immense undertaking'. Meanwhile the Radio Times commended it as 'a cracking documentary - you rarely see science programmes that pack this kind of emotional punch'. And the Irish Independent was 'awestruck by the science, compassion and humanity'
