September 2026 - Wingspan are delighted to share that their new documentary The Battle To Breathe will make its debut in the US on NOVA/PBS on Wednesday 16th September, and alongside it two new Companion Piece Films.

The project reunites the Battle To Beat Malaria Emmy-nominated team, led by producer/director Catherine Gale, featuring versatile hand-drawn animations from The Tin Bear Project, and an affecting original score by Jessica Dannheisser.

Following its recent premiere on PBS / NOVA, our malaria vaccine film has won Outstanding Achievement laurels in this prestigious US competition.

10th November 2023:  Wingspan, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and PBS today announced its new exclusive film, 'The Battle to Beat Malaria', chronicling a University of Oxford team in their decade-long quest for a vaccine for one of the world's deadliest diseases - malaria. The film follows Wingspan's previous award-winning film telling the inside story of the global teams making COVID-19 vaccines during the global pandemic.
