Joanna Lumley and the Human Swan

Joanna Lumley follows para-motorist Sacha Dench, aka the Human Swan, as she flies round Britain inspiring us to tackle the climate crisis.

Together they encounter the very real threats: crumbling coastlines, homes lost, as well as endangered seabirds and Scottish wildcats. But they also meet inspirational climate heroes making a real difference: dedicated beach cleaners, hi tech food scientists, zero carbon home dwellers, sustainable fashion designers, windfarm technicians and Highland rewilders.

Joanna gets stuck in with the expedition chase, and even takes to the skies alongside Sacha in a microlight, as they soar over the iconic white cliffs of Dover. A shocking tragedy late in the journey claims the life of support pilot Dan Burton and leaves Sacha Dench seriously injured. Dan’s family and Sacha remain committed to the broadcast of this film, with its message of both urgency and hope through inspiring climate change solutions.

This film is dedicated to Dan.
